Mayberry continues support for Jamaica bodybuilding championship
The countdown is officially on for the Jamaica Amateur Bodybuilding and Fitness Association (JABBFA) National Senior Championship, set to take place on Saturday, September 20, at the Little Theatre in St Andrew.
Now in its fourth year of sponsorship, Mayberry Investments Limited has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Jamaica’s bodybuilding community through its partnership with the JABBFA.
The championship has become one of the most anticipated events on Jamaica’s sporting calendar, bringing together elite athletes from across the island to compete in categories such as Men’s Physique, Women’s Bikini Fitness, Bodybuilding, Classic Bodybuilding, and Women’s Wellness. More than just a competition, the event serves as a platform for emerging talent, providing athletes with the opportunity to showcase their discipline, strength, and determination on a national stage.
Mayberry Investments views the sponsorship as part of its wider mission to invest in people, health, and community development.
“At Mayberry, we are deeply committed to the philosophy of building futures. That means not only building financial futures through smart investing but also building the future of sports, health, and wellness across Jamaica,” Desiree Wheeler, marketing manager at Mayberry Investments Limited, said during the official launch at the Jamaica Olympic Association offices on Wednesday.
“Bodybuilding requires extraordinary discipline, vision, and perseverance, values that mirror Mayberry’s own. Our sponsorship is more than financial support; it is an investment in people, in athletes striving to be their best, and in a sport that inspires Jamaicans to take their health and fitness seriously. We are proud to stand with JABBFA once again for what promises to be another unforgettable championship,” Wheeler added.
Kirk Frankson of JABBFA emphasised the importance of the championship.
“The National Senior Championship is the flagship event of our bodybuilding calendar. Each year it grows in stature, giving athletes the confidence and platform to excel, while inspiring more Jamaicans to see the value of health and fitness. We are grateful to Mayberry for standing by us for the past four years. Their commitment demonstrates how corporate partnerships can help elevate a sport, empower athletes, and strengthen communities. Together, we look forward to making the 2025 championship our biggest and most impactful yet,” Frankson said.
With this continued partnership, Mayberry is helping to elevate bodybuilding in Jamaica, ensuring that the sport receives the recognition it deserves while inspiring Jamaicans to embrace health, wellness, and excellence in every aspect of life.
