Tokyo 2025: Tina Clayton wins silver in 100m

Tina Clayton won the silver medal in the women’s 100m at the Tokyo World Athletics Championships, running a personal best 10.76 seconds (0.3m/s) in the final on Sunday.

The two-time World Under-20 champion lowered her previous best 10.81 seconds and moved up to joint sixth-fastest Jamaican in history with Veronica Campbell Brown.

American Melissa Jefferson-Wooden extended her season unbeaten run to win gold in a championships record 10.61 seconds while Olympic Games gold medallist Julien Alfred of St Lucia was third in 10.84 seconds.

Shericka Jackson finished just outside the medals, in fourth place, equaling her season’s best 10.88 seconds while Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce was sixth in 11.03 seconds.
