Duo charged over gun allegedly found in closet
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A labourer and a security guard have been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition following the alleged discovery of a gun in their presence, police say.
The charges were laid against 31-year-old Adrian Gobern, a labourer of Oak Glades, Kingston 11 and 32-year-old Roberta Marshall, a security guard of Tamarind Turn, Tower Hill, following the seizure of a Glock pistol with a magazine affixed containing nine 9mm cartridges at the Oak Glades address, on Sunday.
Reports from the Hunts Bay police are that about 9:00 pm, a joint military operation was conducted at the location, where, during a search, the firearm and ammunition were found inside a closet.
Gobern and Marshall, who were present at the address, were then taken into custody, where they were subsequently charged.
Their court dates are being finalised.
