The Marley Legacy, Bottled

Jamaica’s rich heritage and global cultural influence will take on a new form as Marley Fragrance makes its official local debut. The family of global music icon and Jamaican cultural legend Bob Marley has announced the launch of a new fragrance brand in Jamaica — celebrating not just unique new fragrances, but the enduring spirit of Marley.

The Marley Fragrance Private Sensory Launch will take place on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at The Gap Café, Irish Town, St Andrew. This exclusive event will unveil a unisex fragrance line that captures both the essence of Bob Marley’s values and the soul of Jamaica itself.

Guided by Cedella Marley, CEO of the Bob Marley Group of Companies, and daughter of Bob and Rita Marley, the fragrance collection is designed as a heartfelt tribute.

“The idea for Marley Fragrance has been in the works for a while,” Marley explained. “We had this desire to bottle up the spirit of who we are as a family, and where we come from while honouring the spirit of what my father stood for.”

“The scents reflect the energy of Jamaica: The earthiness, the brightness and the soul. It’s less about legacy in the commercial sense and more about sharing a piece of home, of culture, of identity. That’s what this line means to me.”

Crafted in collaboration with IMH Fragrance, a niche American fragrance house known for its story-driven luxury scents, the collection was brought to life by master perfumers from the world-renowned fragrance houses Givaudan and DSM-Firmenich. Each scent taps into mood-enhancing technology, designed to evoke feelings of happiness, relaxation, or invigoration.

• Satisfy My Soul and Lights Down Low (Love-inspired): Crafted by Doug Falcone (Givaudan).

Satisfy My Soul envelops with sea salt, ambrette, and vanilla; Lights Down Low enthralls with pomelo, clove leaf and amber.

• Place of Peace and Mellow Mood (Peace-inspired): Created by Clement Gavarry (Firmenich) and Yann Vasnier (Givaudan) respectively.

Place of Peace soothes with linden flower, agave and Earl Grey tea; Mellow Mood grounds with cédrat, ginger zest, and cedarwood.

• Soul Rebel and Simmer Down (Unity-inspired): Both by Kevin Scozzaro (Givaudan).

Soul Rebel radiates with mango nectar, hibiscus and sandalwood; Simmer Down warms with star apple, cardamom and amberwood.

Infused with Jamaican-inspired notes like mango, star apple, hibiscus, cinnamon, and more, each fragrance is crafted to bring alive the colours, rhythm, flavour and warmth of the island.

“It’s about the energy,” Marley shared. “That sense of joy, freedom, and connection. The second you smell it, you’ll get it. I hope people feel something real; that’s what it’s all about. Whether it’s peace, joy, confidence, or just a moment to breathe, I want Marley Fragrance to help people reconnect with themselves.”

Bijoux, Jamaica’s premier luxury retailer, will be stocking the collection. Anup Chandiram, CEO of Bijoux, described the launch as a regional milestone:

“Marley Fragrance fits well into the Caribbean market as it blends luxury with local culture. It appeals to both locals and tourists, offering high-end scents that reflect the laid-back, soulful vibe of the region. Its connection to Bob Marley also makes it a natural choice for upscale stores and resort boutiques.”

He continued: “This isn’t just another celebrity perfume. It’s mood-enhancing and eco-conscious. Each scent being named after a Marley song makes it personal and meaningful. Launching a fragrance line from Jamaica at this scale is a big deal. It puts Jamaican creativity and culture on the global luxury map. It also inspires local entrepreneurs and shows that Caribbean heritage can shine in high-end markets.”

The sensory launch at The Gap Café promises to be immersive — a space where guests can explore the fragrances in an environment that blends Jamaica’s natural beauty with its cultural heartbeat. With Cedella Marley steering the vision and master perfumers delivering world-class craftsmanship under the direction of IMH Fragrance, Marley Fragrance continues a legacy now bottled for the world to experience, rooted in Jamaica’s culture, music, philosophy and the timeless spirit of Bob Marley.
