The land of tango, steak, and Malbec has so much more up its sleeve!

So says Argentine Ambassador-designate to Jamaica Marcelo Balbi Calvo, who on Sunday, September 14, collaborated with Harbour Wines & Spirits to launch the Sip to Win a Trip to Mendoza Campaign at his Stony Hill residence. The Mendoza campaign builds on the momentum of the brand’s first Sip To Win competition, which saw three lucky winners travelling to Napa Valley in May for a four-day excursion.

Two of the three winners, Racquel Francis and Shantoya Gapour, were among the almost 100 guests who experienced a taste of Argentine culture — chimichurri-grilled steak from Trio Grill Wine Bar, Argentine varietals from Harbour Wines, and delicious dulce de leche by Chef Trevanne Donegal — at the splashy event curated by Harbour Wines & Spirits Commercial Manager Dr Debbian Spence Minott.

“For us Argentines, wine is not just a drink, it’s history, culture, and our landscapes. Our flagship varietal is the Malbec, but we have a long list. We have our excellent Torrontés, our excellent Cabernet Franc, among others. Each glass brings a new sense of the hard work and passion of our artisans. For us, this initiative is very important; it highlights the culture of wine, but also presents the opportunity to visit Mendoza. For those who have been there, it presents an opportunity to go back, and for those who have never visited, it’s time to add Mendoza to the bucket list,” said Calvo.

Two lucky winners will depart for an all-expenses-paid trip to Mendoza in April 2026.
