Most wanted named as suspect in Maverley double murder
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The police have released the names of two men who are being sought in connection with Monday night’s gruesome double murder in Maverley, St Andrew.
Police named the two suspects as Courtney Ashley, otherwise called “Bloodstain” and a man known as “Miller”, otherwise called “Max”.
Two-year-old Tajuan Jackson and Kimarley Powell, 25, otherwise called “Beans”, a business operator from Grenmeade Road in Maverley, were shot dead by gunmen as they sat at the entrance to a premises in the community.
Another man was shot and injured during the incident and has since been hospitalised.

Head of the Area Four police, Senior Superintendent Michael Phipps, said the two suspects are being asked to turn themselves over to the Hunt Bay Criminal Investigations Branch by 6:00 pm Wednesday.
He said Ashley, who is the St Andrew South police’s most wanted, is on the run for several murders and shootings.

“These include the murder of Andrew Foster, which occurred on Fembrook Avenue on the 6th of November 2017. He is also wanted in respect to the triple murder of Fitzroy Cummins, Demoy Mills, Shamar James and the shooting injuries of two other persons,” ACP Phipps revealed.
He disclosed that Ashley was also wanted for shooting at a team of police officers from the Hunts Bay Police Station. This was committed in March 2022 along West Main Drive in Maverley.
“Ashley is also wanted for the double murder of Roshan Palmer and Clive Lloyd, otherwise called ‘Bull’, and this occurred on the 23rd of November 2024 along Seaward Drive in Kingston 20,” he added.
Reports indicated that around 7:15 pm, the three were sitting on a board bench when a white Nissan AD wagon drove into the lane, passed where they sat, and proceeded to the end of the road.
The vehicle turned, drove and stopped where they were, and the occupants opened fire at them, hitting all three.
Residents rushed them to the hospital, where doctors pronounced Jackson and Powell dead. The other man was admitted in serious condition.
