Digicel mobile network restored, free data and calls until 2:30 pm
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Telecommunications provider Digicel says its network has been restored after an hours-long outage that affected customers island-wide, and its customers can now access free calls and data to expire later Wednesday.
“Our mobile network services have now been restored. Call and data services are back online for our customers,” the company told Observer Online.
The company said that as a thank you for customers’ patience during the disruption, it is offering free data and digicel-to-digicel calls until 2:30 pm to active prepaid customers and 10 gigabytes of free data, expiring later Wednesday, for postpaid customers.
Digicel added, “We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused and appreciate your continued support.”
