Double podium for Tommi Gore, Alon Gabbay in Germany
Jamaican race car driver Tommi Gore is beaming after another podium finish in the ADAC GT4 Germany season at the weekend.
Gore and his Israeli teammate Alon Gabbay enjoyed both a double podium and front-row start at Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria.
Gore said the experience was memorable because of the support he received in the stands.
With tens of thousands of fans in attendance and international coverage across major outlets, the atmosphere was electric,” Gore said. “Jamaican flags were flying around the paddock after our autograph signing on Saturday, a proud moment for our team and country! What a weekend with a double podium and front-row start!”
The duo, driving a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport car, qualified for the first race in second position (P2).
“After qualifying P2, we went into race one aiming high to maintain this excellent qualifying,” Gore said. “A hard-fought race, we held our ground and finished in second place.”
Gore was full of praise for Gabbay, who he credited with a strong qualifying performance for the second race.
“Race two brought even more of the same,” he said. “Alon delivered another stunning qualifying performance, putting us P2 once again. He handed the car over to me in second place, and I held it under intense pressure all the way to the finish. Another P2 and our second podium of the weekend! That makes three podiums so far this season, and this was hands down our strongest race weekend yet.”
Gore and Gabbay now turn their attentions to the final race of the season which takes place two weeks from now in Hockenheim, Germany.
