KINGSTON, Jamaica — Singer and producer Gassie Ink recently joined forces with singers Little Kirk, Robertha and recording artistes Ras Oneily and Pehtrol, for the inspirational God Bless the Children.

According to Gassie Ink, the song which was released on Gassie Ink Records on July 24, was inspired by his childhood memories.

“This song was inspired by memories of my childhood days and all the love and support I got from my elders. Things were different in those days because people used to look out for other people’s children. Growing up, it seemed like every adult was my auntie or uncle.  The concept that it takes a village to raise a child is no longer upheld in society. We’ve become so cold and individualistic. This has to change; we must strive to be better as a people and treat our children better,” Gassie Ink told Observer Online earlier this week.

He said God Bless the Children was initially meant to be a collaboration with veteran singer Little Kirk, however, things took a different turn when other artistes got wind of the project.

“I wrote this originally for me and Little Kirk to record it, but after the artistes in my camp and some of my associates heard it, they expressed an interest in being a part of the project. So, I decided to collaborate with them with Little Kirk on the project, and I am happy I did because this song is getting a lot of support,” Gassie Ink disclosed.

Gassie Ink is preparing to release a new reggae project titled Street Warrior.

“This project features some beautiful songs from Turbulence, Lutan Fyah, Robertha, Torch and me. I’m very excited about it and I am confident that it will be warmly received by music lovers worldwide when it’s released later this year,” he said confidently.
