Safe space for senior citizens
APS Provides to launch accessible mobility service
Senior citizens and Jamaicans with special needs are set to benefit from a non-medical transportation and mobility service from APS Provides, as the company prepares to launch on the island this month.
Founded by Donovan and Carol Haynes — parents inspired by their own journey with their special needs child — APS Provides said it is fuelled by personal understanding, compassion, and a relentless drive to reimagine what safe, accessible mobility can look and feel like for Jamaicans with special needs, limited mobility, or advancing age.
“APS Provides exists because we understood what was missing and what families like ours really needed. We have lived this reality, and now we’re putting passion into practice,” said Donovan Haynes in a news release.
“When you step onto our bus, you become part of our family. Our vehicles are your safe space, and our team is here to support every member of Jamaica’s special needs and senior community,” he added.
According to the company, it is committed to providing dignity, comfort, and care with every journey. It shared that it has a fleet of fully accessible, state-of-the-art vehicles designed to ensure that every passenger travels with ease.
The company said each trip is supported by specially trained drivers and attentive onboard assistants in vehicles equipped with ramps to ensure peace of mind for Jamaica’s most vulnerable.
Looking beyond everyday needs, APS Provides is also setting its sights on Jamaica’s vibrant tourism sector to ensure travellers with special needs or seniors requiring support are not excluded from fully enjoying their vacation experiences.
The company shared that its partnership with hotels and resorts will ensure that guests requiring mobility support can participate in tours, excursions, and leisure activities designed with accessibility at the forefront.
Guests will also benefit from seamless airport pick-ups and drop-offs, as well as stress-free hotel transfers, to ensure that inclusivity is woven into the very fabric of hospitality.
“Whether it’s a doctor’s appointment, school run, church, a day at the beach — or simply a much-needed outing for fresh air and social connection — APS Provides will make it possible, and memorable, every time,” the company said.
