Tokyo 2025: McDonald misses medal in 400m
TOKYO, Japan — Jamaica just missed another medal on day six of the World Athletics Championships after national record holder Rusheen McDonald placed fourth in the men’s 400m with 44.28 seconds at the National Stadium in Tokyo, Japan.
McDonald, a World Indoor bronze medallist was just edged for the bronze by Botswana’s Bayapo Ndori who ran a season’s best 44.20 seconds.
McDonald had finished second in his first round race in 44.38 seconds and then ran 44.04 seconds in the semi-finals.
Busang Collen Kebinatshipi, one of three Botswanans in the final, won with a world leading 43.53 seconds, ahead of Trinidad and Tobago’s Jereem Richards who ran a national record 43.72 seconds.
