Discovery Bauxite to participate in coastal clean-up
ST ANN, Jamaica — Employees of Discovery Bauxite in St Ann will be among the volunteers taking part in International Coastal Clean-up Day on Saturday, September 20.
In a release, the company shared that the day will focus on clearing debris and garbage from the Old Folly and Boardwalk beaches in Discovery Bay.
The clean-up team will include staff from the University of the West Indies Marine Laboratory, members of the St Ann Justices of the Peace Association, the Farm Town district branch of the Jamaica Agricultural Society, area schools and the Discovery Bauxite Community Council.
Discovery Bauxite has been involved in coastal clean-up activities in the area since 2012.
Organisers have invited additional volunteers from the community to take part in the activities.
