Tokyo 2025: Levell secures bronze medal in men’s 200m final
TOKYO, Japan — Bryan Levell won his first global medal when he took the bronze in the men’s 200m final of the World Athletics Championships in a personal best 19.64 seconds (0.0m/s) in Tokyo, Japan.
Levell, who won the Jamaican national championships in June, lived up to expectations and won Jamaica’s first medal in the event since 2016 when Usain Bolt won the gold medal at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
He just managed to edge out Olympic champion Letsile Tebogo for the bronze.
Americans Noah Lyles— 19.52 seconds and Kenneth Bednarek— 19.48 seconds took the gold and silver medals respectively.
