Tokyo 2025: Salmon finishes eighth in women’s 400m hurdles final
TOKYO, Japan — Shiann Salmon finished eighth in the women’s 400m hurdles final, running 56.27 seconds on day seven of the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan on Friday.
Salmon got off to a fast start but appeared to encounter difficulties between the second and third hurdles, fell behind, and was unable to recover, trailing at the back of the field.
Femke Bol of the Netherlands defended her title with a world-leading 51.54 seconds. American Jasmine Jones won the silver medal with a personal best of 52.08 seconds, while Slovakia’s Emma Zapletalova ran a national record of 53.00 seconds for the bronze medal.
