Port Antonio, Ocho Rios continue winning streak in daCosta Cup
STETHS blank Munro in parish derby
PORT Antonio High and Ocho Rios High both extended perfect starts in the ISSA daCosta Cup football competition, notching big wins over Horace Clarke High and Brown’s Town High, respectively, on Saturday.
The results gave both teams win number five on the trot.
Port Antonio High won 9-0 while Ocho Rios High ran out 6-0 winners.
At Carder Park, Keandre Wilson scored a brace to lead Port Antonio High to their biggest win of the season, scoring in the third and 53rd minutes.
Port Antonio, who led 5-0 at half-time, got their other goals from Mario Jones, Nicholas Williams, Dajue Williams, Dwayne Rodgers, Kareem Fender, Shavarie Walker and an own goal.
Defending champions Garvey Maceo High and Manning’s School took over sole leadership in their respective zones as they chalked up their fourth wins.
Garvey Maceo thumped Bustamante High 12-0 in Zone I while Manning’s climbed atop Zone C with a 2-0 win over previously unbeaten Petersfield High.
Omarian Obrian scored a hat-trick and Malik Robinson scored a brace to lead Garvey Maceo past hapless Bustamante High. Garvey Maceo lead the zone after Glenmuir High’s game against Vere Technical was called off due to heavy rain and lighting. Glenmuir were leading 3-1 at the time.

Desani Brown scored two second-half goals for Manning’s as they created separation from Petersfield High, who had won their previous three games.
St Elizabeth Technical High School are on back-to-back victories (STETHS) after beating arch-rivals Munro College 2-0.
Hosts STETHS, coached by Omar Wedderburn, came out on top in the big Zone E on a wet field in Santa Cruz with two goals in the first half to get the better of the Everdean Scarlett-conditioned Munro.
Justin McPherson headed past the advancing goalkeeper in the 12th minute before Kaheim Lewis’s free kick from the left side of the 18-yard box went into the goal in the 27th.
In the first game of the double-header Otis Powell scored a hat-trick for BB Coke in their 6-0 win over Sydney Pagon STEM to stay top in the zone on 10 points — two points more than STETHS. Maggotty High and Lacovia are both on seven points.
Paul Bogle High rebounded from their opening-game loss to beat Fair Prospect High 5-0. The result leaves the four teams in Zone L on three points each.
Black River High were also 5-0 winners, getting the better of Little London High in Black River.
