Consistency pays off as Unruly Don secures third career win
CONSISTENCY, patience, and confidence paid off the connections of Unruly Don as the four-year-old bay colt registered his third career win from 13 starts on Saturday, September 20, 2025. This victory also marked the 15th win for trainer Oral Hayden this season.
The race was a Restricted Allowance IV contest for native-bred four-year-olds and up (non-winners of three) and imported four-year-olds and upward (non-winner of two) over one mile (1,600m). Unruly Don won by three parts of length in 1:41.3 (24.1 x 47.3 x 1:14.0 x 1:27.3).
With Raddesh Roman riding, Unruly Don settled into third place behind Hit N Run, ridden by Shaheem Gordon, and Shooting Star, piloted by Dane Dawkins. The bay colt quickly made his move, surging to the front at the six-furlong (1,200m) mark.
Unruly Don maintained a strong pace, turning for home on a merry clip. Despite a late challenge, he held on to win, with Wicked Cassie, ridden by Demar Williams, storming past Shooting Star to claim second place. Shooting Star finished third, unable to catch the winner.
