Police name suspects in jockey Oneil Mullings’ murder investigation
The following is a statement from the St Andrew South Police pertaining to the murder of jockey, Oneil Mullings.
THE St Andrew South Police are probing the murder of 49-year-old Oneil Ricardo Mullings, otherwise called Jockey, a jockey employed at Caymanas Park.
Mullings, who resided at Thompson View Avenue, Kingston 11, was shot and killed on Sunday, September 21, 2025, about 6:42 pm.
Reports are that Mullings was on Thompson View in the vicinity of premises #168 when he was approached by a man armed with a firearm. The gunman opened fire, hitting Mullings in the head. He was assisted to hospital by the police where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators have identified 37-year-old Samuel Brown, otherwise called Shooter or Mark, a labourer/mason of Four Forty Drive, Kingston 11, and his brother Shaun Brown from the same address, as a suspect in the incident. Preliminary information suggests that the shooting may have stemmed from a dispute between the deceased and the suspect earlier that day.
