In celebration of J Wray & Nephew Limited’s 200th anniversary, the J Wray & Nephew Foundation (JWNF) recently awarded 200 scholarships valued at $23.7 million to secondary and tertiary students across Jamaica.
Since launching its scholarship programme in 2016, JWNF has awarded more than 2,000 scholarships to students from communities where the company operates with the latest initiative underscoring JWN’s enduring commitment to transforming lives and empowering communities through educational advancement.
In addition to the scholarship awards, JWNF hosted a professional development workshop for over 50 of its tertiary-level scholarship recipients. The session, led by corporate consultant Althea Laing, focused on key workplace readiness skills, including effective communication, business etiquette, and wardrobe essentials.
Participants also benefited from professional grooming sessions, with makeup services provided by Le Champ Cosmetics and professional headshots captured by LH Multimedia. These activities were designed to equip students with the confidence and tools needed for professional success and future opportunities.
