Sir Don to make light work of rivals
EIGHT juveniles are down compete in a maiden special weight contest open to both native-bred and imported two-year-olds on tomorrow’s 10-race card.
Below is the analysis of each runner as they compete over four furlongs (800m) for a purse of $1.01 million.
1. TIA MARIA: (2 ch f by Bold Conquest – Zacapa) – Tia Maria finished fourth on debut on August 2 but returns well-trained and is expected to run well. With some experience under her belt she might improve on her debut performance.
2. SIR DON: (USA) (2 b c by Spun to Run – Enamored) – Sir Don is a highly rated foreigner making his debut on local soil. He has been working well coming into this race and, based on early signals, is expected to be an easy winner.
3. MIDNIGHT TRAVELLER: (2 ch f by Aveenu Malcainu – Esperanza) – Midnight Traveller is a nicely bred filly racing for the first time. Despite being a debutante, she has worked well and is expected to be in the running for second place.
4. INFINITY STAR (USA): (3 b f by Green pointcrusader – Batmitzvah) – Infinity Star finished second on debut behind Fernando on August 23. Given her promising debut performance she could run another pleasing race.
5. COMUNA TRECE (USA): (2 b c by Maximum Security – My Anguilla) – Comuna Trece is a well-bred colt who finished third on debut on August 23. With his breeding and decent debut performance he is expected to earn money in this race, possibly finishing in the top three.
6. WHATASPUN (USA): (2 b c by Spun to Run – Miss Foo Foo) – Whataspun is expected to struggle in this race and is likely to be left behind.
7. BRODY’S UNITY (USA): (2 b c by Brody’s Cause – Bagatelle Park) – Brody’s Unity has no winning chance in this race.
8. BLYTHWOOD: (2 b c by Wow Wow – She’s An Introvert) – Blythwood’s chances of winning are considered slim to none.
