Treasure Beach, Harbour View settle for point in stalemate
Treasure Beach’s and Harbour View’s head coaches say they are satisfied with the point from their 1-1 draw in the first game of the Jamaica Premier League double-header played at the Montego Bay Sports Complex yesterday.
Both goals came in the first half-hour in a game that both teams created enough chances to win but remained in the bottom half of the table.
Harbour View were coming off their first win of the season against Waterhouse while Treasure Beach snapped a two-game losing skid.
In another game played yesterday, leaders Racing United were held to a 0-0 draw for the second-straight game against Tivoli Gardens at the Dunbeholden Sports Complex in St Catherine.
At the Montego Bay Sports complex, Byjeon Thomas, the Harbour View coach, said he thought his team had done enough to win the game, “but we are happy with the point, playing away from home.”
Thomas said they thought the team played well but they had some things to work on.
Kemar Ricketts, the Treasure Beach head coach, was also pleased.
“We had more than enough chances in either half and thought we were better in some areas,” he said.
Trayvone Reid gave Harbour View the lead in the 16th minute when he headed home past goalkeeper Mowey Morgan but Treasure Beach equalised in the 32nd minute when Raheem Porter guided a ball past the Harbour View goalkeeper Garwin Davis.
