67-year-old man mowed down on North Coast Highway
TRELAWNY, Jamaica — The Trelawny police are probing the circumstances surrounding the death of a pedestrian who was mowed down by a motorcar as he attempted to cross a section of the North Coast Highway, Monday night.
The deceased had been identified as 67-year-old wood carver Patrick Jackson of a Salt Marsh, Trelawny address.
According to police reports, about 10:30 pm, Jackson was hit by a Toyota Voxy motorcar on a section of the North Coast Highway in the vicinity of Bogue Gate.
He was transported to the Falmouth Public General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Jackson’s death pushes the number of road fatalities in Trelawny since the start of the year to 19.
