Cowan receives Mountain Masters award
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Renowned singer, songwriter and producer Tommy Cowan was the recipient of an award under the Mountain Masters category for his contribution to arts and entertainment at the recently held Kingdom Keepers Association’s Pinnacle Conference & Awards Ceremony.
Cowan expressed gratitude at the prestigious honour.
“I am grateful. God has kept me, with the help of a wonderful wife and family that each day I get up with passion and purpose after 63 years in the music industry. Just grateful that what I do is still relevant and is of value to the lives of others,” he told the Jamaica Observer.
The ceremony was held on September 20 at the Shortwood Teachers’ College Auditorium. The key speakers included Pastor Christopher Morgan and Dr Lance Wallnau.
Adding that he did not expect the award, Cowan says this is a reminder of God’s faithfulness to him as he carries out his responsibilities.
“It reminds me that God is not sleeping, it does inspire me to continue my assignment especially when sincerity is played out by those with integrity,” he explained.
Other awardees for the evening included: Fellowship Tabernacle, Jamaica Broilers, and Food For The Poor under the Kingdom Impact Awards category. The other Mountain Masters awardees included: Omar Azan, Dr Denise Eldimire-Shearer, Rev Astor Carlyle, Dr Dana Morris Dixon, and Dahlia Harris. Meanwhile, the Kingdom Keepers’ awardees were: Pastor Sean Williams, Tishauna Mullings, Lloyd Richardson, Kurt Boothe and Pastor Charlene Reid.
Cowan has been working on several other projects.
“Fun In The Son is on the table and we are seeking those the Lord has designated to come on board to assist. Carlene, my wife’s latest album Songs of Zion, a series of events are on Glory Music’s agenda as we seek to include live appearances both locally and overseas. We never cease creating and recording new material, all to the glory of God,” he said.
