Kintyre’s Visual Vibe secures 500,000 from Michael Lee-Chin’s Portland fund
Kintyre Holdings has announced that its subsidiary, Visual Vibe, has secured a strategic investment of US$500,000 (J$80 million) from Portland PJX, the private equity fund of Portland Holdings, led by Jamaican-Canadian billionaire Michael Lee-Chin. The investment signals confidence in Visual Vibe’s continued growth and profitability as it positions itself for a pre-IPO phase.
Tyrone Wilson, founder, president, and CEO of Kintyre Holdings, said, “Michael Lee-Chin has been my mentor over the past two years, guiding me through some of the most important phases of my career. To now receive investment and mentorship from Jamaica’s only Forbes billionaire is both humbling and inspiring.” He added that the investment recognises Visual Vibe’s expanding business model and supports its vision for global growth.
Wilson also expressed gratitude to Robert Almeida, CEO of NCB Financial Group, and Ricardo Hutchinson, chairman of Portland PJX, for their leadership in forging the partnership.
Visual Vibe is a digital out-of-home advertising company in Jamaica with a 15-year legacy, operating over 40 prime indoor digital screens and outdoor billboards across the island. The company is accelerating its aggressive growth strategy with plans to roll out new billboards, upgrade existing digital screens, and diversify its advertising products.
As part of its international expansion, Visual Vibe has entered the US market through a strategic partnership with Dalvey Media, gaining access to a fleet of 175 digital advertising trucks to serve national audiences. To support this move, Kintyre Holdings has established Kintyre Holdings Inc in Miami, which will serve as the headquarters for its US operations. A general manager will be appointed there to oversee the roll-out and nationwide growth strategy. Wilson described this US expansion as “groundbreaking”, adding, “Since acquiring the company in 2023, we have been transforming the business and greatly expanding its earning potential and advertising reach. Our vision is to create a strong global out-of-home advertising network.”
Wilson concluded, “With the backing of Portland PJX and the guidance of Michael Lee-Chin, we are entering a new chapter. Visual Vibe is not just Jamaica’s leading digital out-of-home company — it is becoming an international contender.”
Kintyre Holdings (Ja) Limited, a publicly listed diversified investment company focused on building global brands in media, real estate, technology, and finance, has retained Marlon A Hill of Weiss Serota Helfman Cole & Bierman as legal counsel for the expansion. The Visual Vibe investment and US expansion represent bold steps in the company’s international growth trajectory.
