400 females share in women’s empowerment conference

ST ANN, Jamaica —Four hundred women gathered at Moon Palace All Inclusive Resort, St Ann, from Friday, September 26, for the Church of God of Prophecy Jamaica’s (COGOP) Daughters Unlocked(DU) Women’s Empowerment Conference.

The powerful three-day event featured a line-up of high-profile speakers, including global and visionary speaker Apostle Isi Igenegba from Nigeria, Africa.

The conference, which featured a variety of topics from economy, communication, service and ministry, created a space for women, who are leaders in their fields, to showcase their businesses and products through ‘Women in Business – The Village’ experience.

Under the theme, ‘Beyond the Beyond, ’ women and girls, ages 13-65, received valuable insights on matters of their faith and created a deeper knowledge and awareness of God.

From a stellar selection of keynote speakers and presenters such as Apostle Isi Igenegba, Dr Terri-Karelle Johnson, Pastor Lecia Williams and conference host, Minister Nickeisha Smith, COGOP’s national women’s ministry director, attendees were charged to go beyond limitations and boundaries with sound revelations from biblical principles on identity, divine purpose and faith.

The conference was created to inspire and equip women to live purposefully, through the provision of resources and opportunities for them to actualise their greatest potential and fulfil their God-given purpose.

The newest feature of the conference, Girls Unlocked, provided mentorship and interaction for girls 13-17. They received valuable guidance on effective communication, personal development, and financial literacy from a team of experts, such as communications specialist, Tameka Hill, financial manager, Kerice Gray and youth development coach Orvanese Denton.

The atmosphere was electrified with the sounds of praise and worship led by Psalmists Minister Marsha Jarrett, Ja-Donne Grey and Ayana Bonner. Their powerful and anointed ministries were enhanced by the musical talents of the Rhoda Isabella Ministries (RIM) Band. It was an unforgettable weekend supported by main sponsors: Signature Products and Awards, Jamaica Public Service, Cari-Med Group, World Brands Services, Power106, Challand, Always, Jace Myrie Media and Gateway Pharmacy.

Since its debut in 2019, the conference has resulted in a meaningful impact, and the lives of countless women have been repositioned and redefined for God’s glory. The testimonies of healing, spiritual growth, re-commitments, pregnancies, marriages, restoration and deliverance are evidence of the grace and power of God manifested in the lives of His daughters.

The mission extends to enriching the lives of the vulnerable and underprivileged young women and lends material and skilled resources to ensure that at least one female, between the ages of 13-17, can access benefits to improve and advance personally and professionally.

The ministry has partnered with the End Period Poverty Campaign, offering several donations and providing funding and welfare support for academic and personal development of vulnerable women and girls within the Church of God of Prophecy, Jamaica and the wider communities where the local churches exist.

Conference planning committee chairperson, Sheriann Ward said, “Daughters Unlocked is not just a weekend, it’s more than a gathering. We are a community. It is the connection of faith, it is the execution of a heavenly mandate, it is the space for the manifestation of signs, wonders and miracles, it is the stream for spiritual refreshing and awakening.”

Daughters Unlocked has demonstrated significant growth, starting with over 100 attendees in 2019 to over 400 in 2025. The mission continues to impact and appeal to those wanting to be ‘unlocked’.
