Treasure Beach beat Arnett Gardens in JPL
KINGSTON, Jamaica—Treasure Beach FC scored their first ever win over former champions Arnett Gardens, clipping them 1-0 in their first round Jamaica Premier League game played at Drewsland stadium on Monday.
After losing both games against Arnett Gardens two seasons ago, Treasure Beach snapped a five- game winless run since they beat fellow promoted team Spanish Town Police FC in the opening round of games.
Harbour View were also winners on Monday, edging Dunbeholden FC 1-0, to join Treasure Beach on eight points, both getting the winning goal from the penalty spot and scoring their second win of the season.
In the second game of the double-header, Jahiem Harris, who came off the substitute bench in the 63rd minute, scored 20 minutes later as Arnett Gardens ended a winning run at three games.
Earlier, Trayvone Reid scored Harbour View’s penalty in the eighth minute to chalk up their third straight win over the St Catherine-based club who are on seven points and in 10th place.
