Newly formed Tropical Storm Jerry could strengthen into hurricane
Meteorologists are closely monitoring a tropical storm in the central Atlantic that is expected to become the 10th hurricane of this season by Wednesday.
According to CNN Weather, Tropical Storm Jerry is moving near or north of the northern Leeward Islands, where it could bring heavy rain, strong winds and rough seas as a category one hurricane.
Early forecasts suggest the system could intensify into a hurricane, though its exact path remains uncertain. Some models indicate a potential curve out to sea, while others show it moving closer to land.
This hurricane season started late with most of the hurricanes forming in late September. Experts are hoping for the best as this would make the first free hurricane landfall season in the United States in a decade.
