‘Whisper’ Richards gets Boyz call-up as injury replacement for Demarai Gray
Chelsea FC winger Dujuan “Whisper” Richards is set to land in Curacao on Thursday after being named as a replacement to Demarai Gray in the Reggae Boyz Squad for this window’s Concacaf World Cup qualifiers.
The 19-year-old wasn’t named in the initial 26-man squad but was called on Wednesday and is expected to arrive in Curacao on Thursday afternoon ahead of their clash against the hosts here at the Ergilio Hato Stadium.
Richards, who has 10 caps for the national senior men’s team, made his last appearance back in October 23, 2023.
Gray, meanwhile, will return to England and join his club Birmingham City where he’s expected to undergo further scans.
The remaining members of the squad, aside from the suspended Kasey Palmer and Isaac Hayden, made the trip and are expected to train on Thursday morning.
