Resident frustrated with loud music
Dear Claudienne,
I live in a “big yard “ with several houses in a Kingston 10 community. My grandmother, who owned the premises, willed it to my mother.
The more than 50 persons who live on the premises periodically complain to my mother that their sleep is being affected by the loud music coming from two bars nearby.
My repeated requests for the music to be turned down have been ignored.
When I call 119 and complain about the noise the police come, and while they are in the area the music at the bars is turned down. [But] the music is turned up again after the police leave.
When the noise starts, it is a nightmare. Dem play music anytime, any how –– it come in like me a keep party in a mi house. A years mi a go through this. Me and dem argue and we only lef fi knock fist.
I am fed up and hope you can assist us to get some relief from the loud music.
WM
Dear WM,
Tell Claudienne has informed the police high command of the noise problem and you have told the column that the noise emanating from the sound systems at the bars has been substantially reduced.
We wish you all the best.
