19-y-o student cops Miss Jamaica World Beach Beauty title
University of the Commonwealth Caribbean (UCC) business finance student, 19-year-old Nevaeh Allen was named the 2025 Miss Jamaica World Beach Beauty on Sunday.
The Beach Beauty competition is one of the fast-track events in the annual Miss Jamaica World beauty pageant. This year’s event was held at Fort Clarence Beach in Portmore.
Finishing in second place was Asia Wright, while Halima Haughton took third place. Allen has secured an automatic top ten placement in the grand finals of the pageant, which takes place on Sunday, November 2 at the Karl Hendrickson Auditorium at Jamaica College.
Speaking with Observer Online shortly after the event ended, Allen expressed surprise at her win.
“I’m feeling elated. It was a little bit of a shock because there are 19 other beautiful special ladies in the pageant and I’m sure that we’re all gonna do great, but I am happy with the outcome,” said Allen, who wears the sash Reggae Jamaica Village.
Allen shared that she had always wanted to participate in the Miss Jamaica World pageant.
“I couldn’t be any prouder of myself, having secured an automatic spot in the top ten. Making the top ten is a big feat. I joined this competition because it has always been a dream of mine to be among the competitors. I also wanted to shed some light on my advocacy, which is the sustainability of animal conservation,” said Allen, who finished in third place at the Miss Jamaica World Eastern Region pageant a few weeks ago.
As to what she is looking forward to most about the pageant, Allen disclosed, “I’m excited to see how much I will grow as a person.”
An Ardenne High alum, Allen grew up in Linstead, St Catherine.
Natalie Murray, chief judge for the Miss Jamaica World Beach Beauty competition, explained the criteria used to select the winner.
“It had to do with the body looking healthy and not necessarily slim or of a well-proportioned and healthy body that shows an active lifestyle. And then, personality and charisma had a lot to do with it, engagement with the audience on stage and engagement with the judges. It really was hard to arrive at a winner,” said Murray.
