Candidates, contributors campaign financing submissions due Wednesday
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Electoral Commission of Jamaica (ECJ) is advising candidates who contested the September 3, 2025, General Election that the deadline to submit their election expense report is Wednesday.
It said all candidates or their official agents are required under the Representation of the People Act (ROPA) to submit the Return of Election Expenses within six weeks of Election Day. The report must be submitted on the prescribed form (Form 22). The law limits election expenditure by a candidate to a maximum of $15 million.
Contributors to election campaigns are also required to submit their declarations required under law by Wednesday.
The documents should be submitted to the returning officer for the constituency in which the candidate contested the election, or to the Director of Elections at 43 Duke Street, Kingston, for the attention of the Legal Affairs and Compliance Department.
Upon receiving the submissions, the ECJ will publish a summary of the declarations provided by the candidates.
