DJ Khaled earns Billboard Rhythmic Airplay entry featuring Jamaicans

Of the 13 studio albums that DJ Khaled has released to date, 11 have featured collaborations with Jamaican artistes.

His often-delayed 14th studio album Aalam of God is previewed by the song You Remind Me, which debuts at #33 on this week’s Billboard Rhythmic Top 40 chart.

You Remind Me features Vybz Kartel, Buju Banton, Bounty Killer, Mavado, RoryStoneLove, and newcomer Miami-based Belizean artiste Kaylan Arnold.

The song gives Buju his first entry on this particular Billboard chart. It is the second for Vybz Kartel, Bounty Killer, and Mavado.

Here’s a quick recap of the songs which have appeared on DJ Khaled’s albums that feature Jamaicans.

She’s Fine featuring Sean Paul, Missy Elliott, and Busta Rhymes and Bullet featuring Rick Ross and Baby Cham (both featured on DJ Khaled’s 2008 album
We Global)

Killing Me featuring Buju Banton, Busta Rhymes, and Bounty Killer (featured on 2010’s Victory)

Welcome to My Hood (remix) featuring T-Pain, Ludacris, Busta Rhymes, Twista, and Mavado (from the 2011 album
We The Best Forever)

Suicidal Thoughts and Aktion Pak featuring Mavado (both included on 2012’s Kiss the Ring).

Give it All to Me by Mavado and Nicki Minaj (featured on the standard release of 2013’s Suffering From Success). The deluxe edition has two additional songs featuring Mavado – Weed and Hennessey and At the Top (its Just Us).

 My League by Mavado, featured on 2015’s I Changed a Lot

Progress by Mavado, included on 2016’s Major Key (produced by Mineral Boss Records)

I’m So Grateful (intro) by Sizzla and Unchanged Love by Mavado (both featured on 2017’s Grateful)

2019’s Father of Asahd has two songs among its track listing that feature Jamaicans, Holy Mountain by Buju Banton, Sizzla, Mavado, and 070 Shake; and Holy Ground by Buju Banton Khaled Khaled (released in 2021) features Where You Come From by Buju Banton, Capleton, and Bounty Killer, while 2022’s God Did features the track These Streets Know My Name by Skillibeng, Buju Banton, Capleton, Bounty Killer, and Sizzla

And, still on Billboard’s Rhythmic Airplay chart, Ginger by Sean Paul slips from #18 to #22, after peaking at #14. It has been on the chart for the past 13 weeks.

PBT by Travis Scott featuring Tyla and Vybz Kartel steps up from #15 to #13 in its tenth week.

Mariah Carey’s Sugar Sweet, featuring Shenseea and Khelani, remains at #18 on Mainstream R&B/Hip Hop Airplay but tumbles from #17 to #21 on Hot R&B Songs. It backtracks from #23 to #26 on R&B/Hip Hop Airplay.

Shake it to the Max (fly) remix by Moliy, Silent Addy, Skillibeng, and Shenseea is #1 on Billboard’s US Afrobeats Songs chart for the past 23 weeks. Meanwhile, Getting Paid by Sarz featuring Asake, Wizkid, and Skillibeng dips from #5 to #7 in its second week on the chart.

Moving now to the Billboard Reggae Albums chart, Bob Marley and the Wailers clock a record-setting 300 weeks at #1 with
Legend.

Best of Shaggy: The Boombastic Collection by Shaggy remains at #2, The Trinity by Sean Paul jumps back onto the chart at #3, and World on Fire by Stick Figure slips to #4.

Greatest Hits by UB40 is at #5, Dutty Rock by Sean Paul backtracks to #6, Stick Figure has Wisdom and Set Stone at #s 7 and 8, while Welcome to Jamrock by Damian Marley is down to #9.

Exodus by Bob Marley and the Wailers rounds out the top 10 at #10.

On regional charts, Pressure by Gisto remains at the #1 spot on the Rebel Vibez Top Ten Canadian Reggae chart, with
Ready or Not by Jurney Star is at #2.

So Long by Neto Youth featuring Anthony B is #3, while Evil Alters by Glen Washington is #4.

Feels Like a Movie by JUNO nominee Celena is #5 and They Will Try by Fiyah Locks is the sole new entry at #10.

A Woman’s Touch by Richie Stephens spends a second week at #1 on the New York Reggae chart, while Duane Stephenson’s interpretation of Jah Jah Give Us Life flies from #7 to #5.

A cover of the Elton John classic Nikita by Kenne Blessin steps up from #17 to #13, while Love Story by Beres Hamond and Tanya Stephens is at #21.

Who’s Loving You by Kevoy Clarke and We Need Love by Johnny Osbourne and Tarris Riley are this week’s new entries, coming in at #27 and #28 respectively.

Over on the South Florida Reggae chart, Hopeton Lindo’s cover of A House is Not a Home featuring Marcia Griffiths remains at #1. Skip Marley’s In Our Sight hops from #15 to #12, while Single Mothers by D’Angel is #19.

Holding On by Hezron debuts at #22, Nikita by Kenne Blessin is new at #23, and All Over the World by Lila Ike and Protoje enters at #24.
