McKay Security confident ahead of Business House Challenge Cup
McKay Security’s Chief Executive Officer Jason McKay has boldly declared his knockout champions as “the best Business House team ahead of this evening’s Kingston and St Andrew Football Association Business House Challenge Cup final clash against division one league winners, RJRGLEANER, at Constant Spring Sports Complex at 7:00 pm.
Basking in McKay Security’s 1-0 qualifying win over division-two league champions, Scotia Bank, McKay said he had hoped his opponents would have been National Housing Trust (NHT), who had beaten his team 1-0, a 93rd-minute goal, in the division one league semi-finals, ending their unbeaten run.
“Tonight will prove that McKay Security is the best team in the business house league. My only disappointment is that we are not playing NHT, who had beaten us in the league semis,” said McKay, adding that he is looking to swamp RJRGLEANER in their clash for the Raymond Quallo Memorial Trophy.
McKay is confident his team should dominate RJRGLEANER after a 3-0 regular-season defeat of the media men coached by Fabian Swaby.
However, Swaby said their rivals’ 3-0 league victory will have no impact on this evening’s final.
“Losing to McKay Security in the regular season will not matter at all,” Swaby said. “When they played us they did not outplay us. They simply capitalised on their chances. If we had done so, it would have been a different result.
“We have tweaked and changed the formation. It will be a different scoreline this time around.
Their defensive record means throughout the season they were doing something good but fell short where it mattered most, the semis.”
McKay Security’s coach, Aurane Phoenix, pointed to his team’s defensive record, saying they only need to convert their chances to show RJRGLEANER who is boss.
“The reality is we have to score goals, which win matches,” Phoenix said. “We only need to finish our chances to ensure victory,” he added, pointing out that McKay Security are out to settle a score after losing last year’s Challenge Cup final to NHT on penalties after a 2-2 stalemate in regular and extra time.
