Reggae Boyz player ratings vs Bermuda: High marks as Jamaica inch closer to WC qualification
The Reggae Boyz are back in pole position to qualify for next summer’s Fifa World Cup after a 4-0 thrashing of Bermuda in their qualifier on Tuesday.
With the win, Jamaica regained top spot in their group in the final round of Concacaf World Cup Qualifiers, with just two games remaining.
Observer Online was at the National Stadium to take in the action. See how we rated the Boyz’ individual performances below.
Andre Blake – 6.5/10
Was rarely called up on but did well when he was.
Dexter Lembikisa – 7/10
Linked up well with Kaheim Dixon on the right side plus his inverted role helped open up Bermuda
Richard King – 8/10
Solid defensively plus his distribution and runs attacking wise were really good
Ethan Pinnock – 7.5/10
Won most of his physical battles and worked well with King in keeping the forward line quiet
Greg Leigh – 7/10
Had much more of an impact than Bell against Curacao.
Isaac Hayden – 7.5/10
Quiet performance but his efficiency showed what they were missing against Curacao
Kasey Palmer – 9/10
Man of the match for me. Was unplayable all game and his movements and passing made life easier for the front 3
Bobby Reid – 7.5/10
Looked more comfortable in the number 10 role and got his goal
Kaheim Dixon – 8.5/10
Finally got his chance to start and made it count. His dribbling and connection with Nicholson had Bermuda in a daze. Unfortunate not to have scored.
Shamar Nicholson – 8.5/10
His best performance in a Jamaican shirt for a while. Could have scored more but his centre forward play was brilliant.
Renaldo Cephas – 8.5/10
Owned the left wing and provided two assists. Should have converted one of his chances but solid game.
Subs
Dujuan “Whisper” Richards – 9/10
Arguably the most electrifying individual performances at the National Stadium in years. Was a nightmare to stop, hardly put a foot wrong and scored an incredible solo goal.
Jon Russell – 6.5 /10
Linked up with Whisper well and kept the midfield going
Karoy Anderson, Ian Fray and Tyreece Campbell- 6/10
Didn’t have a major impact but didn’t bring down the team’s dominance
