Seafood Saturday @ Jamwest Beach
Negril’s famed seven-mile beach may be known for its powdery sands and turquoise waters. However, along its sun-kissed shoreline lies exhilarating and culinary experiences that are redefining beachfront dining — Jamwest Beach is one such spot.
This isn’t just a place to soak up the sun — it’s a full-sensory experience where the rhythm of the waves meets the beat of Jamaican flavour and fun vibes. From the moment you step onto the beachfront terrace, the space offers refreshing cocktails from the Swing Bar, grilled seafood including lobster (seasonal) and fish, jerk pork and chicken from the Roast kitchen as well as curried goat, braised oxtail and other tasty food options from the main restaurant. The Mocha Café offers pastry, wraps, salads, breakfast, coffee and pizza options. All promising an experience and a feast that’s as vibrant as the view.
Jamwest Beach’s kitchen celebrates the island’s bounty with dishes that are both comforting and fitting for the beachfront experience. Chefs Donovan O’Connor and Jermain Jarrett bring years of experience with Mexican, Italian and Caribbean fusions to elevate the dining experience. The café options are designed to be fast, easy-going and tasty as well as adding a different experience for the casual-paced town. The team attributes their love and passion for food as well as experimenting and indulging in different cuisines as factors that keep their offerings fresh.
“We have been in operation since July 2023. The reaction has been positive as we’re consistently redefining ourselves on the spectrum. Our formula entails keeping what our customers respond well to. From the live DJs, Seafood Saturdays, Sunday Brunch, Sunset Soirée, Karaoke Fridays and, of course, we host special events for birthdays and other celebrations,” explained Leethan Grandison, reservations manager, Jamwest.
What sets Jamwest apart isn’t just the food — it’s the atmosphere. Guests dine just steps from the surf, with panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea stretching endlessly ahead. It’s not just a restaurant — it’s a destination. Between bites, guests can explore the broader offerings including party vibes or serene catamaran cruises. It’s this blend of adventure and indulgence that makes Jamwest a standout on Negril’s culinary map.
