Jamaican consumers are being urged to protect their investment by purchasing exclusively through the ATL Automotive Group. The company is reiterating its position as the regional master dealer for the BYD brand of new energy vehicles (NEVs) in Jamaica as well as nine other countries throughout the Caribbean — Antigua, Aruba, Barbados, Cayman Islands, Curacao, Guyana, St Lucia, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago.

Purchasing from unauthorised dealers may result in functionality issues and limited access to critical software updates,” Coco Lin, sales manager, BYD America Auto Sales Division, remarked.

“Not only are unauthorised dealers claiming to be able to perform software and hardware updates demonstrably false, they are not in legal possession of the proprietary diagnostic tools, software licences, or technical data needed to perform legitimate updates on BYD vehicles. To protect both the longevity and safety of their vehicles, our customers should always engage with authorised BYD dealers,” Lin continued.
