WATCH: Manchester residents call for answers in Jayden Smith’s disappearance
MANCHESTER, Jamaica — Scores of people mostly wearing black marched in Mandeville on Friday in protest demanding answers into the disappearance of Manchester schoolboy 12-year-old Jayden Smith.
Jayden was reported missing exactly a month ago.
Two weeks ago the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) utilised drones from its specialised operations unmanned aerial vehicle unit, cadaver dogs from its canine unit and personnel from its missing person’s desk as well as Newport Police Station to comb Jayden’s family home and surrounding areas. The search yielded no results.
Previously, staff and students from Manchester High, the police, firefighters and relatives combed Perth Road and Wesley Road in Mandeville in search of the missing child.
Jayden reportedly went missing after leaving school on September 26. Police said they have followed up on several reported sightings of the child, but expressed concern regarding prank calls.
