Taxi driver pinned in two-vehicle Mandeville crash extricated by firefighters

MANCHESTER, Jamaica — Firefighters had to be called in to get an occupant out of a Toyota Wish motor car following a two-vehicle crash on New Green Road in Mandeville on Sunday.

The crash involved two Toyota Wish motor cars including one operated as a taxi.

A preliminary report from the Mandeville Fire Station is that a call was received at 7:31 am regarding the crash.

“One person was trapped and had to be removed from one of the cars by firefighters,” a senior source in the Jamaica Fire Brigade said.

The injured person was taken to hospital for treatment.
