Beauty, Bravery… and a touch of pink power! [PART 2]
Tuesday Style Beauty (TSB) shares more highlights from the recent full-salon makeovers for Jamaica Reach to Recovery (JR2R) breast cancer survivors, held at the HEART College of Beauty Services.
Thirty breast cancer survivors received hair treatments, styling, and manicures, all thoughtfully adapted to their post-treatment needs, at the annual wellness retreat, held in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
This initiative is led by the National Association of Hairdressers and Cosmetologists (NAHC), with support from Design Essentials and Beauty Plus Academy. For over 10 years, this initiative has focused on restoring confidence, nurturing emotional well-being, and giving survivors a safe space to feel seen, valued, and beautiful in every sense of the word.
Level 3 HEART student Tricia Dawkins Ranger carefully tended to Jamaica Reach To Recovery member Sheryl Monroe, during the blow-drying process as part of the full-service salon makeover initiative.
HEART College of Beauty Services Level 3 students Abiona Wiggan (standing, left), and Ny Aisha Kirkland (standing, right) were impressed with survivor Yvette Biggs’ hair growth.
Jennie Blake (seated), 27-year breast cancer survivor, was pampered with a soothing hair wash from National Association of Hairdressers and Cosmetologists representative Gaymore Martin.
