#MelissaAftermath: Holness to assess Trelawny, Westmoreland and Hanover on Thursday
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Information Minister Dr Dana Morris Dixon says Prime Minister Dr Andrew Holness is expected to visit the parishes of Trelawny, Westmoreland and Hanover on Thursday, as part of his ongoing assessment of areas hardest hit by Hurricane Melissa.
On Wednesday, Holness conducted a tour of St James and St Elizabeth, though in some instances, poor landing conditions prevented the helicopter from touching down due to extensive storm damage.
Dr Morris Dixon explained that the prime minister’s ability to complete Thursday’s visits will depend on weather conditions. She also noted that media requests to accompany officials on helicopter surveys cannot be accommodated at this time, as all available aircraft are being used to support ongoing relief and recovery operations.
