Raddesh Roman is open to overseas opportunities
Current champion rider Raddesh Roman has no immediate plans to pursue overseas ventures, but he remains open to potential opportunities.
In an interview with the Jamaica Observer’s The Supreme Racing Guide, Roman said that while riding overseas would provide valuable exposure and help him develop his craft, it’s not currently a priority.
“Nobody knows what the future brings, and I remain hopeful. If I can get a good opportunity to go overseas, I will consider taking it,” Roman said.
“It is not really on my mind but riding overseas will give you a better exposure and you ride against jockeys that are all over the world. It will sure develop my craft but as I said, if I get the chance I will take it but it is something that is not really on my mind as in that I want to go foreign,” he added.
Roman rode three winners on Saturday, October 25, 2025, further solidifying his lead in the jockeys’ championship. Roman’s wins came aboard Earmark Blitz for trainer Alford Brown in the second race, Rum With Me for trainer Peter-John Parsard in the sixth race, and Indestructible for trainer Phillip Elliott in the 10th and final race.
With these victories, Roman’s tally reached 111 winners for the season, 66 ahead of his nearest rival Robert Halledeen, who is on 45 winners.
“I’m clear in front, but I don’t take anything for granted. I’m just continuing to put in the hard work and get the job done when I get the good mounts,” Roman expressed satisfaction with his current form, attributing his success to dedication and securing top rides.
