NADB Business House League to make much-anticipated comeback in 2026
AFTER a six-year hiatus the National Association of Domino Bodies (NADB) Kingston and St Andrew Business House League is set to return in 2026, bringing back a beloved tradition to the Jamaican sporting scene.
With growing fear back in 2020 related to the spread of COVID-19, organisers had been forced to cancel the tournament.
The NADB Business House League has been a staple of Jamaican sporting culture, promoting unity, teamwork, and healthy competition among employers and employees. The tournament has a rich history, and is expected to bring workplace camaraderie with it.
According to Humbert Davis, president of the NADB, organisers are arranging to revive the tournament.
“The wait is almost over. We’re finalising plans to bring back the NADB Business House League in 2026, and it’s going to be bigger and better than ever,” Davis said.
“After six long years we’re ready to dust off the dominoes and get back to the game we love. The NADB Business House League is coming back, and we can’t wait to start. The domino community has been patient, and we’re excited to announce coming back,” Davis told the Jamaica Observer.
Davis emphasised that while there will be changes to the competition’s structure, all standard rules and regualtions will remain the same.
“We’re confident that this will make the competition even more exciting and challenging for our participants. The NADB Business House League has always been about more than just winning; it’s about teamwork, sportsmanship, and having a good time. We’re committed to keeping that spirit alive in the new tournament format,” Davis explained.
“We’re introducing some new twists to the tournament to keep things fresh and exciting for our participants. We’re confident that this will make the competition even more thrilling for players and spectators alike,” he added.
Davis also highlighted the benefits of playing dominoes, including improved cognitive intelligence, attention, and memory.
“Dominoes is more than just a game — it’s a way to build relationships, challenge your mind, and have fun. The game of dominoes teaches you strategy, patience, and teamwork. These are essential skills that can benefit you both on and off the table. It’s a game that’s fun for all ages, and we’re excited to share it with the community,” Davis said.
