‘It was a disaster’: Westmoreland residents struggle with Melissa’s aftermath
In the wake of Hurricane Melissa’s rampage through western Jamaica last Tuesday, the people of Westmoreland are facing unimaginable loss.
Homes lie in ruins, livestock are gone, and many residents in some communities, like McAlpine, have gone days without a proper meal.
With supplies in nearby Whitehouse running dangerously low, the community has been forced to rely on each other for survival.
