Funcaadun leads 21-horse field provisionally entered in Jamaica Cup
The fifth staging of the $6-million Jamaica Cup is shaping up to be an exciting event, with
Funcaadun, last year’s Mouttet Mile winner and Horse of the Year, heading the list of 21 provisionally entered horses. The Jamaica Cup is a prestigious Graded Stakes contest for three-year-olds and upward over 9 ½ furlongs (1,900m), and it also offers automatic entry to the December 6 Mouttet Mile race.
Funcaadun, a four-year-old American-bred bay colt by Klimt – Fiftyshadesoffun, will carry joint top weight at 57.0kgs (126 lb) alongside Tiz Tok. He has won two races from five starts this season
Tiz Tok was supposed to be a big deal — highly rated but he never lived up to that expectation. Tiz Tok is going to love every inch of this journey and could really show what he is made of.
Other noticeable entries include Jamaica Derby winner I Dream Again, the hard-knocking Run Julie Run, and the promising Unspun.
The list of the 21 is provided below.
