ITA prioritises applicants who missed tests due to Hurricane Melissa
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Island Traffic Authority (ITA) is advising the public that, due to the passage of Hurricane Melissa, all learner’s permit and driver’s licence tests originally scheduled at service hubs (examination depots) between October 23 and October 31, 2025, will be rescheduled to the earliest available dates.
In a release on Monday, the company encouraged affected applicants to contact the ITA to confirm their new appointment date.
In addition, current applicants with scheduled appointments whose designated service hubs remain non-operational due to hurricane-related damage are invited to reschedule their driving assessments at an alternate location. This measure is intended to minimise disruption and ensure the timely continuation of the testing process.
To reschedule, applicants may contact the Island Traffic Authority’s Driver Records Unit at 876-754-1900 (extensions 6334, 6251, or 6277) or email driverslicence@mtw.gov.jm.
The ITA said it appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as efforts continue to restore full service across all locations.
