WATCH: Taxi operators patch potholes on Red Hills Road
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A group of taxi operators on Sunday came together to patch several potholes in the vicinity of Calabar High School and Lees Food Fair which they say are posing great danger to people’s lives and properties.
“Right now we a do the Government work basically, we a patch out some pothole weh a cause major traffic a morning time. It a cause havoc on the Red Hills Road area,” one taxi operator told Observer Online.
The taxi operator, who shared that he had previously met in an accident as a result of another motorist trying to escape a pothole along the stretch, said his main concern is for the safety of students who attend Calabar High School.
“The motorist them, when them a drive them affi a swing from the pothole and some a them no really a look in front of them. Wen the students them a cross, a no all of the students them use the pedestrian, and the roadway here full of pothole and the motorists them a swing from the potholes, them can lick down the students them and we a try prevent that,” he added.
The taxi operator made an appeal for motorists, pedestrians and students to be careful utilising the section of the road.
