Bog Walk Gorge now open; Williamsfield to Glengoffe road should be used with caution — NWA
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The roadway from Spanish Town to the Bog Walk in St Catherine is now open to vehicular traffic, according to the National Works Agency (NWA).
The NWA says the roadway, which had been blocked at several locations since the passage of Hurricane Melissa, is now fully cleared. The traffic lights at Flat Bridge are also now in operation.
Meanwhile, the NWA is advising commuters to exercise extreme caution while using the roadway from Williamsfield to Glengoffe, also in St Catherine.
Manager of Communication and Customer Services at the NWA, Stephen Shaw, says that the roadway, which had been blocked, was cleared, but continues to have issues in the vicinity of Freedom, including recurring blockages by landslides. He urged motorists to remain vigilant while using the corridor.
The NWA is urging all motorists to exercise caution while using the roadways across the island, particularly in areas still experiencing rainfall.
