D&G Foundation donates $250,000 to United Way of Jamaica
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Desnoes & Geddes (D&G) Foundation, the charitable arm of Red Stripe, has reinforced its commitment to national development with a $250,000 donation to the United Way of Jamaica (UWJ).
The contribution will fund a range of community-based initiatives focused on education, family empowerment, and social resilience, providing critical support to Jamaicans who continue to face economic and environmental challenges in the wake of Hurricane Melissa and rising cost-of-living pressures.
During the handover, representatives of the D&G Foundation reaffirmed their commitment to supporting initiatives that improve lives and create opportunities for Jamaicans to thrive. The partnership between the two organisations is rooted in a shared vision of building sustainable, empowered communities through collaboration and compassion.
Acting CEO of the United Way of Jamaica, Kerry Lue Lynch, expressed her appreciation for the support, noting that the contribution will strengthen the organisation’s ability to respond to community needs and expand the reach of its social programmes.
“When organisations like the D&G Foundation step forward, it allows us to extend our reach and create sustainable change in the lives of Jamaicans who need it most,” she said. “This partnership represents what can be achieved when we work together for the greater good,” said Lynch.
Accountant at the D&G Foundation, Dennis Beckford shared “The United Way of Jamaica continues to be a pillar of hope and support for many families and community groups across the island.”
“Our donation reflects the foundation’s belief that true progress happens when we invest in people; and when the private sector works hand in hand with organisations that drive social impact,” added Beckford.
