Jamaica and Trinidad tied at half time
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago were locked at 0-0 in their Concacaf final round Group B qualifying round second leg game being played at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain on Thursday.
It was a gritty first half as neither team managed to take control of the game for long periods as Jamaica slipped to second place in the “live” points tables, on 10 points, one behind Curacao who led Bermuda 2-0 at half time.
Jamaica were forced to make a first half change after central defender Richard King limped off and was replaced by Damion Lowe in the 30th minute.
The Reggae Boyz managed to get the ball into the goal, Jonathan Russell heading the ball past goalkeeper Denzil Smith in the 39th minute but he was ruled to have been marginally offside.
Levi Garcia just missed a good chance in the 25th minute when his shot from the right side after dismissing King, sailed just wide of the far left post and Andre Blake pulled off a brilliant save in the 35th minute to block a valley from Tyrese Spicer.
