Shaneil Buckley transfers to FSU in NCAA
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica’s national representative Shaneil Buckley has signed for Atlantic Coast Conference giants Florida State University (FSU) in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) women’s soccer (football), it was announced on Wednesday.
The former Excelsior High student was a stand-out at Daytona State College where she was a junior college All-American and scored the winning goal in the national championship game in 2024.
In two seasons at Daytona State, Buckley played 38 games, starting all but one, scoring 38 goals and had 17 assists, accumulating 93 points in the process.
The 20-year-old, who also represented three-time national women’s club champions Frazsier Whip FC, follows in the footsteps of fellow Reggae Girl Jody Brown, who played four seasons at the Tallahassee-based FSU.
