Gassan Azan Sr passes

Gassan Azan Sr died Friday afternoon after a long illness. He was 86.

The former manufacturer is the father of business mogul Gassan Azan Jr, the founder, chairman and chief executive officer of Bashco Trading Company Limited and its parent company MegaMart Wholesale Club.

Azan Sr was an industrialist who owned and operated a number of manufacturing companies in Jamaica in the 1970s through to the 80s. Among them were Tiny Town Manufacturing, Cradle Craft Manufacturing and Kandy Kane Manufacturing.

He was also a coffee farmer and a distinguished Freemason.
